FOR ONE NIGHT – AND DAY – EACH YEAR, WE ARE ENCOURAGING YOU TO GET OUTDOORS WITH YOUR FRIENDS, FAMILY AND LOVED ONES
Join world record adventurer and conservationist Holly Budge for a ‘Wild Night Out on the South Downs’. Worryingly, research shows that one in nine children in England have not been to a natural environment in the past 12 months. The fresh air has incredible health benefits. We will kick off the day at midday with an optional walk from Alresford to the idyllic campsite setting at Holden Farm Camping in Cheriton (approx. 5 miles). And when darkness falls, the fun can continue with a night out under the stars, with storytellers sharing their tales of adventure round the campfire amongst the strumming of guitar strings. Activities will include toasting marshmallows and bird spotting in the glorious rolling hills of the South Downs. All you need to bring is a tent, food and refreshments. There are fantastic facilities onsite including hot showers, toilets and a washing up area.
I feel passionate about inspiring others to daydream, meander, run, climb and jump into their own adventures in the great outdoors. I love hiking and camping on the South Downs, this was my training ground for climbing Everest, running up the hills with a weighted pack. It is so important in the crazy busy world we live in to take time out to relax, breathe and simply be in nature. This event will raise funds for my charity ‘How Many Elephants’, which is about preserving, appreciating and celebrating wildlife and nature.
