In September 2008, Holly Budge will be amongst the first to enter the international record books by being part of this truly unique Skydiving challenge.
Skydive Everest pushes the boundaries harder and higher, for this is a challenge taking Skydiving into a harsh and extreme environment. Holly will look onto the summit of Mt Everest and some of the other highest mountains in the world before freefalling past them at 180 mph. She will land her custom-made parachute at 12,350ft, the highest Drop Zone in the world. The jump dates in Nepal cheat the 200mph jet stream that roars across Mt Everest's summit.
This challenge surpasses any other in Skydiving so far. Since 1991 the Skydiving and BASE jumping communities have landed onto both the North and South Poles, and BASE jumped Angel Falls, Venezuela - fabulous and awe inspiring adventures in their own right and as such they were the historic building blocks for this new and exciting challenge.
As well as setting a new record, Holly’s other challenge is to raise over £30,000 for The Hampshire Autistic Society and Regain. This huge task relies on the generosity and support of companies, organizations, friends & family.
The Hampshire Autistic Society is a charity who give choice, opportunity, professional advice, education, support and care to those affected by autism. www.has.org.uk.
Regain is the only charitable organisation dedicated solely to improving the independence of all British men and women who have become tetraplegic as a result of a competitive sports injury. www.regainsportscharity.com
