ADVENTURER

ADVENTURER

On May 22nd 2017, Holly stood on the summit of Mount Everest. Using cutting edge technology, she shared her journey on social media to intimately document the everyday struggle and reward of human endurance from one of the most hostile and challenging environments on the planet.

CONSERVATIONIST

Few people know that 96 African elephants are poached each day for their ivory. At this rate they will be extinct by 2025. Holly has turned this disheartening statistic into a powerful and award-winning campaign, entitled 'How Many Elephants', which presents a physical commentary on the devastating impact of the elephant ivory trade.

Few people know that 96 African elephants are poached each day for their ivory. At this astonishing rate they will be extinct by 2025. Holly has turned this disheartening statistic into a powerful exhibition, presenting a physical commentary on the devastating impact of the elephant ivory trade.

This is a stark reminder that greater awareness and education is needed and quickly. To situate this in a broader context, exotic and rare animal parts have been fetishized by humans as luxurious, highly prized and valued possessions for hundreds of years. This needs to change.

Holly has weaved complex data into her craft to close the gap between scientific information and human connection. Her multi award-winning exhibition displays 35,040 elephants in a striking 18-metre long infographic display, using a monochrome palette to reflect the indifference of these animals in their fate.

MOTIVATIONAL SPEAKER

Holly is an energetic and engaging motivational speaker who speaks passionately about her diverse achievements in the outdoors.

From basecamp to the boardroom, Holly’s inspiring speeches draw on the lessons she has learnt as an expedition leader and a world record holding adventurer. Holly engenders a strong relationship with her audience. She recently spoke at a conference to over 1000 and the following day to an intimate group of 8.

Holly’s tales from her adventures are told with passion, humour and humility. Having to regain composure after forward propelling herself accidentally from a plane at 29,500ft above Mount Everest to losing her steed and spending a night stuck deep in the Mongolian mountains, Holly has first-hand experience of testing her limits and overcoming challenges with skill, confidence and good judgement. Even in times of great adversity, she reinforces the importance of having a positive mindset. Her presentations incorporate a powerful collection of photographs and video from previous expeditions.

"My mission is to inspire others to daydream, meander, run, climb and jump into their own adventures."

Her themes include:

SELF-BELIEF & DETERMINATION.

Life can teach us to limit our self belief. We need to THINK BIG, DREAM BIGGER and surround ourselves with like-minded others.

NURTURING PASSION.

Passion is the golden key to success and fulfilment. It drives us to achieve our biggest dreams.

POSITIVE ACTIVE THINKING.

Dance to the beat of your own drum. We are in control of our mindsets. This is one of the only things we truly do have control of.

GOOD DECISION MAKING.

On a mountain, good decision making could be the difference between life and death. It is important to back yourself to make good solid decisions in the outdoors and in life.

DREAMS ARE REAL.

There is power and magic in turning your ambitions into destinations, starting with learning how to break down big ideas into bite-sized, manageable chunks and act on them.

PUSHING YOUR LIMITS.

To push your limits you first have to test your limits. It is truly exhilarating to push yourself harder than ever before and discover you have more stamina, determination and resilience than you ever would have thought.

Black Mambas #8 – 3 out of the Big 5!

It’s been an epic few days living the life of a Black Mamba.

This night patrol was beyond exciting! I wasn’t sure what to expect and what I would see. It didn’t disappoint. There were two black mambas, Leytah and Belinda, Charlie and myself. Our vehicle, known as “Dave” had two seats in the cab and two elevated seats on the back. Leytah and I sat on the back, in the open air.

I’m excited to be joining the G Mambas for a day and a night at their picket, to join them on their night patrol and their morning patrol tomorrow. I feel privileged to be invited into their ‘home’ and have the opportunity to immerse myself into their daily life and routine.

Black Mambas #6 – Night Patrol Debriefed

A statuesque woman pointed at the jeep door and said ‘enter’. I entered. Then she climbed in, sat down, leaving me firmly sandwiched between two mambas. I sat there quietly.

In the next breath, I was telling them how passionate I was about the work they do and how I think they do a fantastic job.

Black Mambas #5 – Night Patrol!

I am super excited to be accompanying the Black Mambas on their night patrol this evening. I have no expectations as yet as who knows what’s in store! I’m guessing a lot of time they don’t know either given the unexpected and quickly changeable nature of their work.

Black Mambas #4

It was a huge privilege to be invited to the local hospital where one of the mambas gave birth to a baby boy. The strong ties formed amongst these women is clear to see. They literally trust each other with their lives and the respect, strength and loyalty I witnessed is humbling.
